I didn’t know that Waiting would relate to Covid when I conceived it. But as I proceeded with the process the connection was more evident. This was the very start of the lock down when we all seemed disoriented by our new reality. The man in the painting, like me, occasionally stopped what he was doing during this period to reflect on the quiet and seeming isolation as we adapted to the new reality.
No sabía que Esperando se relacionaría con el Covid cuando lo creé. Pero a medida que avancé con el proceso, la conexión se hizo más evidente. Esto fue en el comienzo del encierro, cuando todos estábamos desconcertados por nuestra nueva realidad. El hombre de la pintura, como yo, de vez en cuando dejaba de hacer lo que estaba haciendo durante este período para reflexionar sobre el silencio y el aislamiento mientras nos adaptábamos a la nueva realidad.
