In my work, through discovery and the creative process, I explore complex human geographies and the alienation and displacement brought on by cataclysmic or man-made disasters, by destabilizing wars or just plain hubris. As an artist, I am acutely aware of everything that surrounds me. All that information gets filtered and rearranged, transformed and digested and re-manifests itself with new meaning in my art. Living in apprehensive isolation since March, looking at every stranger, and even my groceries, with suspicion and seeing the world as we knew it collapse, inspired my current series of paintings.
En mi trabajo, a través del descubrimiento y el proceso creativo, exploro complejas geografías humanas como el desequilibrio mental y el desplazamiento provocados por catástrofes, por el hombre, por guerras desestabilizadoras o simplemente arrogancia. Como artista, soy muy consciente de todo lo que me rodea. Toda esa información se filtra y reordena, se transforma, se digiere y se vuelve a manifestar con un nuevo significado en mi arte. Vivir en un aislamiento aprensivo desde marzo, mirar a cada extraño, e incluso a mis comestibles con sospecha y ver el mundo tal como lo conocíamos, colapsar. Esto inspiró mi serie actual de pinturas.
