“Dalang on the Border” brings the ritual puppet master of Asian drama to our desert borderlands of northern Mexico and southwestern USA. He plays his fighting cocks across the border stage. Around him, spirits from this shifting edge of empire reflect the life and death, the game and gamble, of our diversity of cultures. The ephemeral collage of duct-tape fence and inkjet prints portrays both the vitality of our contested cultures and their transitory nature in the reality of the desert.

Juega con sus gallos de pelea al otro lado del escenario fronterizo. A su alrededor, los espíritus de este cambiante borde del imperio reflejan la vida y la muerte, el juego y la apuesta, de nuestra diversidad de culturas.
