Inside Outside was created during the early part of the pandemic when we first followed the stay at home guidelines. An abstract beginning as a study of the complementary colors of yellow and blue violet, it quickly developed a structure of its own. The yellow became a housing unit. There are letters representing words inside the building. You are inside and connect with the world by reading, listening to news, and even social media. On the outside of the building are numbers. Numbers are addresses, units, people. We become a count, a statistic of positive results, infections, and death. We are isolated in our units. We are coping.
Dentro y fuera se creó durante la primera parte de la pandemia, cuando seguimos por primera vez las pautas de estancia en casa. Un comienzo abstracto, un estudio de los colores complementarios amarillo y azul violeta, rápidamente desarrolló una estructura propia. El amarillo se convirtió en una vivienda. Hay letras que representan palabras dentro del edificio. Estás dentro y te conectas con el mundo leyendo, escuchando las noticias e incluso los medios sociales. En el exterior del edificio hay números. Los números son direcciones, unidades, personas. Nos convertimos en un recuento, una estadística de resultados positivos, infecciones y muerte. Estamos aisladas en nuestras unidades. Nos enfrentamos a la situación.
