I was obsessed with the Bighorn wildfire in the Catalina mountains. I drove so many miles around the mountain to photograph this nature’s fury. Rather zooming in and shooting only the flames, I wanted to capture the context and ecology in which it was blazing. To me, the houses in the foothills and the saguaros threatened by the wildfire were as important as the blaze itself. My passion for photography grew when I moved to the USA. Through landscape photography, I not only explore nature but also contextualize the events. I want to engage my viewers in a conversation through my work and invoke their emotions.
Estaba obsesionado con el incendio forestal de Bighorn en las montañas Catalina. Manejé muchas millas alrededor de la montaña para fotografiar la furia de la naturaleza. En lugar de acercarme y tomar una foto de solo llamas, quería capturar el contexto y la ecología en la que estaba ardiendo. Para mí, las casas al pie de las colinas y los saguaros amenazados por el incendio forestal eran tan importantes como el incendio mismo. Mi pasión por la fotografía creció cuando me mudé a los Estados Unidos. A través de la fotografía de paisajes, no solo exploro la naturaleza sino que también contextualizo los eventos. Quiero involucrar a mis espectadores en una conversación a través de mi trabajo e invocar sus emociones.
