Photogravure etchings is one of my best ways of expressing new work that doesn’t always follow my series of artwork. The three works submitted are done in reaction to being isolated from travel during COVID-19. ‘Wishing I were in Paris’ are three images that relate to an art trip during the summer of 2019, when Julia and I visited London, Paris and Madrid. One of our close friends, Jan Olsson was having a reception of her paintings and we made a point of visiting. I took many photos using my mobile phone these prints reflect a longing to travel. The plates were produced in 2019 and printed editions 2020. The pandemic has given me the opportunity to do other work.
Los fotograbados son una de mis mejores formas de expresar un nuevo trabajo que no siempre sigue mi serie de obras de arte. Los tres trabajos presentados se realizan como reacción al aislamiento del viaje durante el COVID-19. ‘Deseando que estuviéramos en París’ son tres imágenes que relatan un viaje artístico durante el verano de 2019, cuando Julia y yo visitamos Londres, París y Madrid. Uno de nuestros amigos cercanos, Jan Olsson, tuvo una exposición de sus pinturas y nos propusimos visitarla. Tomé muchas fotos con mi teléfono móvil, estas impresiones reflejan un anhelo de viajar. Las placas se produjeron en 2019 y las ediciones impresas en 2020. La pandemia me ha dado la oportunidad de hacer otro trabajo.
