This year been so remarkable for all of us and I dedicated a lot of time to drawing and taking pictures about our experience during quarantine and curfew. I am an artist and do a lot of painting, traditional and digital. I love to take pictures too. I remember the first time that we went into curfew, I went to downtown and took some pictures of the empty city where usually it is full of people. I will never be going to forget how lonely downtown was and how sad it looked. My inspiration to draw La Dolorosa was Mary’s pain when Jesus was sacrificed on the cross. I felt lonely and sad for our world and helpless, I felt very connected with Mary’s sadness. I used Prismacolors on Canson paper, then scanned it and took it to photoshop to give more texture and realistic tears rolling on her face.
Este año ha sido sorprendente para todos nosotros y he dediqué mucho tiempo a dibujar y tomar fotografías sobre nuestra experiencia durante la cuarentena y el toque de queda. Soy artista y hago mucha pintura, tradicional y digital. También me encanta tomar fotografías. Recuerdo la primera vez que entramos en el toque de queda, fui al centro y tomé algunas fotos de la ciudad vacía donde generalmente está llena de gente. Nunca olvidaré lo solitario que estaba el centro y lo triste que se veía. Mi inspiración para dibujar La Dolorosa fue el dolor de María cuando Jesús fue sacrificado en la cruz. Me sentí sola y triste por nuestro mundo e impotente, me sentí muy conectada con la tristeza de María. Usé Prismacolors en papel Canson, luego lo escaneé y lo llevé a Photoshop para darle más textura y realismo a las lágrimas del rostro.
